The Alien World of Politics The Involuntary and Ignorant Person

Politics is a world of its own.  It lives on another planet.  The planet is not extraterrestrial or even outside our atmosphere.  It resides as a world on this planet in many nations, and it entails many different types of peoples from all over the globe.  Politics is a world which many people do not like to live on, and a world many people choose to hate.  However politics is a world we have to explore and a place we can enrich our interests and enthusiasms for humanity’s advancement.

Like Saturn it has many rings and moons and asteroids barricading and blocking the visit to its world.  A world where people find a difficulty in communicating true ideas and thoughts of wisdom and kindness.  A world in its new stage of developing its naturalness and visible shape. The reality in revealing the better side of this world requires effort in understanding and applying ancient Greek philosophy.

Let us take into consideration three leading philosophers from ancient Greece, namely Plato, Aristotle, and Socrates.  Aristotle believed, “Actions are involuntary only when another person forces our action, or if we are ignorant of important details in actions. Actions are voluntary when the originating cause of action (either virtuous or vicious) lies in ourselves.”  The concept Aristotle speaks about regarding politics and the ignorant person describes the dangers they can possess in the political world.  It takes moral virtue to be in politics and a strong moral will to continue encouraging the right principles.

The involuntary politician, attempts to bargain with their morals, since in the political world, morals are so easily corruptible, as the appointment or bestowed authority, does come with power, which again is so easily abused for selfish profit. They may be operating at their own will but not giving their charity or moral principles voluntarily, it comes involuntarily meaning at a price, which should never be the case.  The price usually being, a bias rhetoric for selfish gain.

The experience of this concept is not so alien to people, although the recognition of the immoralities within the political world is important, as usually the immoralities signify there are hurt people, and these are hurt people in need of justice.  Therefore we must search and explore the epidermis of the political world and draw conclusions from the realisation the involuntary actions of people in politics is seriously damaging.

It beats cymbals for equality when we as people stare into the looking glass and feel we are no more, hurting or harming one another.  We are simply living, to live together, as one humanity, devised from so many different types of peoples, cultures, backgrounds, complexions, hair colours, beliefs, faiths and religions.  Working harmoniously despite our inner differences our external values are all the same, our morals and principles as people part of humanity align to make a unifying solution for the political world.  Putting away the inane gibberish of people with corrupted values entering politics and also already in politics, by shutting down the wrong and immoral actions of the unjust (for the sake of justice and equality) is the vital key for people living in the political world.

Plato is another philosopher who was able to reflect on the scary alien world of politics for the better, “He appears to be the worst type of ignorant person who pretends that he knows something but does not. Such ignorance in politics is the cause of mistakes and evils (118a). What is implied in the dialogue is that noble birth, beautiful looks, and even intelligence and power, without knowledge, do not give the title to rule.”  Plato’s assertion is strong in this quote, and he is almost at the point of annoyance and grievance due to the ignorant seizing and dominating the world of politics for their own aesthetic pleasure, which is well-known by those with moral principles, as the wrong direction for a true and long-lasting democracy.

Socrates is most famous for noting “An unexamined life is not worth living, for human beings.” Socrates believed he himself was not all-knowing, although he possessed the ability to identify the ignorance in politicians to be like a blackhole sucking the life and naturalness of the political world.  He critiqued on Plato and Aristotle who were inspired by his philosophies and political vexations.  He considered the Socratic elenchus as an important social and psychological test, but also an epistemological one.  The three tier test demonstrated a larger scope on the way to perceive a better outlook on politics and life.  The tests incorporated religion, faith, belief, psychology, and social awareness to clearly outline the better passionate view to including morality and ethics particularly in the political world, as well as life in general.   When taking in to consideration all these three tiers of evaluating the politician or democratic person in today’s world, the right perspective to prevent the unnatural occurrences in politics especially is harnessed.  It then can be geared or utilized or wielded to advance the forward motion and movement against pain, poverty, anguish and torment, corruption and anger; which ultimately provides the answer to unhinging the attitudinal wrongs polluting life, nature and peoples.  It builds upon the sturdy foundation of the right moral approach and stops the unnatural growth of the involuntary politician, the corrupted speaker.

The political world is an alien world to most people.  An alien world full of aliens, which we feel is never really doing anything for us, but with the right connections and sensitivity on a universal level and in an open frame, people everywhere will be able to embrace the goodness politicians do offer and can offer in future times.  The portrait for respecting humanity and nature will thus be a clearer picture perfectly painted.
