Time to Wake Up! October 2015 (updated)
Following on the President of United States of America's speech given in the wake of the mass shooting at Oregon Community College, it is time for law to evolve and adapt to our needs and our basic right to live.
If there is law clearly allowing the wrong people to follow-through with acts of domestic terror this should be identified by the majority of the people in a country.
Education is the victim, as well as students, and this has been around for decades. Children and youths are subjected to violence on all levels, such as rape, assault and even gun crime in places of education, like university campuses and schools.
The appreciation for education and its students must be understood and protected by local civilians and local governing bodies. Otherwise these crimes will continue and people's education will be plagued by horrors. Violence in any form, sexual or physical is abhorrent. The idea of education is for young questioning minds and bodies to flourish and flower in a positive way and live a life full and free, contributing to a peaceful and beautiful world, by using their education.
Congress and Senate have opposed views in previous years but now see the second amendment "right to bear arms" as a right which should be properly and stringently regulated. President Obama spoke, on allied nations like UK and Australia stringently tackling domestic gun crime through the power of law which dramatically dropped mass shootings and gun crime, evidence in the power of such change. In the UK "guns are banned for public use" and in Australia as well, after a 1996 shooting which led people to realise change in law is hugely necessary.
Moving forward and making change in the right direction is significantly powerful in making the lives of those living in fear of violence feel better about their country and its people. Justice is essential and justice will never be found for victims if a country continues to allow laws providing citizens with a right to obtain a license to purchase guns so easily. A license for a gun which will inevitably be used to inflict someone else, unless it is a hunting rifle used in the wild on wild animals, and only for this sole purpose.
If people are permitted to easily purchase or manufacture guns in the USA or anywhere in the world without any acknowledgement of what they can actually do to a person, it is criminal. Stringent regulations must be enforced and reinforced and checked over annually (audited). Laws allowing such criminality must be changed to allow the safety of education in the USA and in all places around the world.
Education is fundamental to the development of people. Mala (Malala) Yousafzai has openly and vehemently made clear girls and young women especially in the Middle East must see better education, but safety is essential, for all people and all schools.
Whether in the USA or Middle East education must be a proud feature of life for young learning minds and bodies - children who should be protected by the people, laws and authoritative bodies, which must be fully representative of all the people in all areas. This is the embodiment of a true democracy - full and fair representation by people supported by the people.
These areas must then communicate with other controlling powers in other areas of a country, on the understandings of such virtuous peace and schooling, and cohesion can then be found within the "dream for peace in education" for people in disrupted lands, disruption which can be something of the past. Yet more people must agree and communicate peace and peaceful action.
Hearts and prayers go out to the deceased and their families - in all the places around the world. From Oregon, to Syria, to Somalia - I think we should all see light to the truths of our very existence particularly in schools and universities, which is none of us want death or fear of violence.
We like to see ourselves and future offspring grow in a nurtured and loved educational environment, but it takes bold people and many to make such a powerful change moving in the right step, for the betterment and procurement of life.
World leaders can guide and direct nations and people, but when it comes to making crucial changes in law, people and legal systems, must make the decision to support and uphold the moral standards of justice. It applies to US Congress and Senate and Parliaments all over the world, and other governments representing their civilians and country.
Ban Ki Moon Chief of UN has spoken on how the UN can make positive differences to countries, particularly struggling, but the UN needs backing and government or ruling party consent to assist humanitarian and diplomatic efforts, and this also applies to education systems requiring protection and security.
It must not be forgotten as well, "actions speak louder than words" and this applies especially to peoples and countries in grave need, so words and agreements for peace mean nothing unless they are put into action! An agreement or treaty means nothing unless it is put in to action.
A man can quote the Bible and Q'uran or Bahavagita as much as they like but if they live a violent or abusive life, it is meaningless because they have not put in to action those words. A man can write the Bible and Q'uran or Bahavagita as much as they like, but if they live a violent of abusive life, those words are meaningless because they do not put in to action those words.
People can believe easy access to guns is essential, and make or say laws are protecting people, but if those words are doing nothing and people are murdered so brutally it shows nothing and is meaningless, people must act more upon the words they write and and act more upon the words they say.
What is a gun for but only to inflict harm? Time to Wake Up!
